Lollipop, lollipop, oh lolli lolli....

Ok, so I hope you've come back after Abbas' corny post, although I have to admit, the graphic of the software box with him on it, is pretty darn good! Must be why I love him so.

So, we bought our crib! We had our hearts set on the BabyMod Parklane from Walmart.com (only) in the States, which is very modern looking, the right price for us and got good reviews on Apartment Therapy. (The other option I had listed previously was the StorkCraft Ariel, also from Walmart - a little more traditional looking but we had decided against it.) I still think both of these options are great though, especially if you live in the US.

Anyhow, on the spur of the moment, we decided to stop at Nestings, a very cute store on Yonge to check out their showroom. We walk in and I see "Winter Sale 20% off" on practically everything! We spotted the AP Lollipop Crib in Weathered Black, off in the corner and we both really liked it. It seemed to combine both the modern look and the traditional detail we were looking for. And with the 20% off, it turned out to be just a bit more than the BabyMod and didn't require a trip south of the border. So we're thrilled....and we'll likely go back to Nestings again, as the customer service was great. Oh we got it in Cottage White.

Now I must tell you (whomever is reading this for shopping tips in the GTA), that we will no longer shop at Moms to Be & More. We ordered our Monte Luca Glider from them on Dec. 6th. This was a significant purchase and we specifically asked the sales lady if this chair ever went on sale, since we could wait a bit to buy it. She adamently said no, never. Two weeks later, Moms to Be had a 'no tax sale' on all funiture orders. I was furious! We called and explained that we had just put down a ton of money and were not being treated very well by this reputable store. In fact, whereas ALL other stores, including Nestings, only charged us 50% down on anything we ordered, Moms to Be asked for 100% of the cost of the Luca Glider + delivery UP FRONT!
Anyhow, in the end they agreed to give us store credit for the tax portion of Glider, which I am satisified with. I wasnt thrilled though and except for spending the store credit we now have at Moms to Be, we won't be shopping there anymore.
