She's alive!

Me, Mommy that is. Abbas has been working hard at keeping the blog up to date (even though we're behind) and I haven't posted in months! Months...I can't believe 3 have passed since Samarah's birth. It's just crazy how quickly time flies. I'm already thinking about the fact that I have to go back to work - and dreading it!
Anyhow, let me fill you in on what I've /we've been up to.
I discovered that the community centre across the street from our house has caregiver/baby classes as well as fitness classes. It's so convenient and it makes it alot easier to get motivated to exercise. Baby weight still present...we're working on it! So I've taken a muscle conditioning and pilates class. In a few weeks I start aerobics and yoga.
Samarah has been busy too. We go to baby time at the North York Centre library which is really fun, even though she sometimes sleeps through the session. We're also taking a class put on by the public health nurses called 'Bringing Home Baby' where a bunch of new moms meet with a nurse to discuss all kinds of things - infant stimulation, solid foods, teething, etc...
In July we start Stroller Fitness at Edwards Gardens. Samarah hasn't been there yet and I'm sure she'll love the hills!
Aside from this, Samarah still has a very busy social calendar.
Two weekends ago we went on a picnic in Milne Park in Markham with some of our Hajj friends. It was SO hot but we all survived and Abbas was brilliant enough to pitch a tent for all the breastfeeding moms to have some shade and some privacy.
Last weekend we had a delicious dinner at our friends Mandi & Lloyd's place in Mississauga. Walter and Chloe were great babysitters.
We also went to Movie Night at Rayn's place. He was the only little one who managed to stay up and watch all of Bee Movie with us. Yeah Rayn!
For Father's Day we participated in a charity walk at Centre Island for Safiya's school.
It was fun despite the pouring rain, lightening and thunder! We'll have to do that again some day soon.
Monday we visited with Abbas' mom and dad who are here from the UAE and celebrated his mom's birthday.
Here are some photos from Days 79-86.
(PS Abbas still does the captions, not me!)
On Saturday the 3 of us are off on our first family vacation! A road trip to Ottawa and Quebec City. QC is celebrating their 400th anniversary so there should be a lot of exciting things to do and see. We can't wait!
