Flippin' for Video!

Before I even start with today's post, let me just acknowledge the fact that it's been a while since I posted.. and I really should do a better job with keeping this thing up-to-date. Also, I should have done this a while ago, but I added a little form to the sidebar where you can subscribe to this blog.. so rather than checking in occasionally (or several times a day as some of you claim to do), you'll get notified by e-mail when there is a new post. So subscribe away!!

Ok - back to the real post.

When Samarah was still a '+1', I decided that I wanted to invest in a digital camera rather than a video camera.. although once she was born, I felt like I couldn't adequately capture the entire experience of having her in our lives with still photographs. I started doing some research on HD cameras, and even tried out a couple, but found the process of editing or sharing the videos to be more time consuming than I would have liked. So no video camera for me (and Samarah) - that is, until last month, when based on a recommendation from my friend John Nack, I bought a little Flip Mino (by the way, John's son Finnegan is three weeks older than Samarah and has his very own, rather impressive, blog as well).

The best thing about the Flip is how small the thing is (about the size of an iPod) and how easy it is to post video on YouTube (essentially plug-and-play). So expect to see a lot more video in the coming weeks.. here is a quick sample from our recent NY trip (a quite note: Samarah is laughing quite a bit now, but she still needs a little prompting, hence my somewhat fake laughter):

Enjoyed watching Samarah laughing. I think se remembered one of my jokes, that's why she was laughing.
