LONG Week.....
Well, Abbas and I are trying to recover from a long, tiring, but super exciting week. It just doesn't seem to want to end. I sort of feel that having the baby will give me a break from all the running around but as many experienced moms have told me, I'm sure I'm going to miss these days.
Last Saturday was our 'friends shower' which was so much fun and as Abbas mentioned, we really were so touched with the love and generosity of our friends...what a great group of people to have our +1 grow within.

I was also lucky enough to have my two very close friends come in for the weekend. Melissa and I have known each other since we were 12 (a very long time ago, I won't say exactly how long ago though!) and Maria and I have known each other since my junior year at Muhlenberg - so since '95. I cherish the friendships I have with them and I know they will become significant people in +1s life.
On Monday Abbas and I went to our 3rd prenatal class...called Emergency Child Care where we learned how to identify stress in an infant and how to resolve choking and perform infant CPR. It was very informative but yet a little scary in that we could possibly have to use that knowledge some day. Nonetheless, I was happy we took the class.
Today was the last of the classes: Baby Care. This was probably the most fun class but I'm thankful they are over as I need my weekend days back! We learned how to calm a crying baby, how to swaddle, bath and change. Ironically, we ended up watching a short clip from Harvey Karp's movie version of 'Happiest Baby on the Block' and although Abbas knew everything the man was saying, it was good to see some of his instructions in play. Oh and I say this was the most fun class because there was no mention of labor!

Speaking of labor, another friend of ours just delivered 2 weeks early...this is becoming alarmingly common for me to hear about...I really need the next 6 weeks to finish work and get the house setup for +1s arrival!
